CACKLE.N.COMICS
Hello all, here is my 9 page comic inspired by Humankind's recent discoveries with the Internet's Collective Machine Learning (which includes some of my observations on the very controversial topic of AI Generated Art) - I could probably write/draw 20 to 40 more pages on the topic, but decided to be as concise and as to the point as possible. This comic is about ALL the data that is being collected on the internet, not only scraped artwork.
I chose to have my version of the Stick Figure as the main characters because in the internet's infancy, there were a ton of comics with stick figures in them and since comics and cartooning are my favorite medium of expression, I thought it would be fitting to tell the story with this world renowned symbol.
I hand drew this all with good old fashioned pencil and paper (even lettering it with my crappy handwriting); I tried to make it as unrefined as possible, choosing to not use a ruler, mainly because I thought if I was going to make a sort of protest comic against technology, I should probably use less of it (at least for this comic's purpose) even though I did add an old paper texture digitally and also zipatone/benday dots to it for clarity (and also because somebody told me the AI machine learning doesn't read benday dots that well)
And don’t get me wrong, I love my digital tools AND for the record, I AM NOT AGAINST TECHNOLOGY, though I do believe that the leaders of these technologies need to be more responsible with how they acquire and use this data, so that society can benefit as a whole and not only a few at the top.
Thank you for reading this and allowing me to contribute to this very controversial topic.
